The rules are the bible for a sporting competition. Through their balance and subtleties, they must ensure equality, motivate the riders and help spectators and viewers to understand the event. Here is an outline of the main points in the rules.
LEADERS JERSEYS AND OTHER STANDINGS
General individual time classification
The leader of the general individual time classification will wear a green jersey the following race day.
General point classification
The leader of the points classification will wear a red jersey the following race day.
Most active rider classification
The Most Active Rider classification is established by adding together the points obtained in the intermediate active (MAR) and bonus sprints classifications of all stages. The leader of the Most Active Rider classification will wear a polka jersey.
Best young rider classification
The leader of the young rider classification is the first young rider in the general individual classification. He will wear a white jersey the following race day.
